This beautiful small still life was painted as a color study for a large commission for a client whose passion is flower arranging. I was trying something new - I sanded an Ampersand board to make the surface more permeable and applied layers of pastel, spraying caseine fixative in between - I am very happy with the outcome. One small detail I should have looked out for - where the hanging holes are on the back! You’ll have to ignore that part and create your own hanging device or frame the piece - I suggest the latter. If you use a simple floater frame it will really show off the piece!
